ADVOCACY
Congressional Members and staffers
recognized the struggles our industry
has faced and the need for fragrance
innovation. Members on both sides
of the aisle are willing to send a joint
congressional letter to EPA on our behalf.
» Regarding pending cosmetics legislation,
Fragrance Creators encouraged
congressional offices to communicate the
requests of the fragrance industry—trade
secret protection, predictability, and
preemption—to bill sponsors.
» Influential trade policymakers learned

more about the fragrance industry and
our particular sensitivity to trade issues.
Fragrance Creators positioned itself as a
resource and encouraged Members and
staff to communicate with the association,
especially since the current climate
includes potential trade deals, tariffs, and
foreign retaliatory actions.
» Several Members of Congress joined
the Congressional Fragrance Caucus
as a result of Lobby Day. Upcoming
Caucus activities include the July Capitol
Hill Perfumery Event and a briefing on
fragrance’s economic contributions.
» Members and staff expressed interest
in touring fragrance houses. Fragrance
Creators will help facilitate these visits.
» Many have seen Fragrance Notes or
requested copies.
A number of offices wished to learn more
about the fragrance industry. Fragrance
Creators will continue to communicate and
provide advocacy tools (e.g. one pagers,
briefings, videos, etc.) to bolster the impact
of its 8th Annual Lobby Day. FN
