2018 World
Perfumery
Congress
Fragrance Creators Association leaders and
members left their mark on the perfume industry
with engaging educational sessions, networking,
and exhibit floor demonstrations at the 2018
World Perfumery Congress (WPC), held June
5-7, in Nice, France.
Farah K. Ahmed, President & CEO of
Fragrance Creators, presented as part of the
“Perfume & Policy” panel, where she spoke
about the mission and values of Fragrance
Creators and its commitment to thinking
differently to address industry challenges. She
ended her presentation with a call to action:
encouraging perfumers to join our efforts.
Ahmed also moderated a panel of fragrance
industry leaders: “Future-Proofing the Industry.”
Miguel Alemañy, Director of R&D, Flavors
and Fragrances, at Procter & Gamble and a
Fragrance Creators Board Member, presented
“The Four Biggest Threats to the Perfume
Industry,” where he discussed how, in his view,
the vibrant and growing fragrance industry
must acknowledge and overcome its biggest
“threats”—both internally and externally—in
order to thrive.
Robert Bedoukian, Ph.D., President of
Bedoukian Research and a Fragrance Creators
Board Member, presented “The Past, Present, &
Future of Signature Perfume Ingredients” with
Zerlina Dubois, Master Perfumer at Procter &
Gamble. This Master Perfumer session discussed
how the creation of new and innovative
ingredients driven by consumer demand have led
to some of the most iconic trends and product
launches the perfumery industry has ever seen.
